Three days of celebration and music for one of the oldest summer events in the South. The Néoules festival was once again full, carried by dozens of volunteers delighted to meet for this festive and family event. If reggae is still at the heart of the program, the public could also hear the Malian duo Amadou and Mariam or the young Camille Esteban.
The public came in large numbers to welcome and applaud Steel Pulse, an English reggae group founded in the 70s. Musicians who have conquered generations of fans of this musical style. In Néoules, the group has found an ideal setting, because this musical genre is king there. And it is not the singer, David Hinds, who will say the opposite. “The Néoules festival is like a haven to testify to what reggae represents he said. It has become a stronghold of this style of music, so that it is listened to and appreciated by as many people as possible.
Other representatives of this musical trend have succeeded on the festival stage, such as Macka B or the Frenchman Pierpoljak, who is back on stage after a long absence.
But rock, rap and world music are now coming to Néoules, notably with the Malian duo Amadou and Mariam and the young singer Camille Esteban, spotted in the show The Voice in 2017 and which has since distilled its energy and influences between songs, hip-hop and Spanish music. On tour this summer, she particularly enjoyed her stopover in Néoules. “It was my first time here and I hope it won’t be the last! Because frankly we were very well received here!”.
The festive, friendly and family atmosphere is the other asset of this expected event every summer.
