(Montreal) An update on the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Quebec will be prepared in the early afternoon of Friday.

The national director of public health, Dr Luc Boileau, will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. to provide an update.
On Thursday, the Department of Health and Human Services reported 671 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 additional coronavirus-related deaths in its most recent report, while the number of hospitalizations remained essentially the same. There were 2,222, including 763 due to COVID-19, one more than the day before, Wednesday.
Sixty-nine people were in intensive care in the last report, including 35 due to COVID-19, an increase of four.
On the other hand, a total of 6,532 healthcare workers were absent for reasons related to COVID-19.
In addition, since last Monday, parents of children aged six months to four years can make an appointment to have them vaccinated against COVID-19. Health Canada recently endorsed Moderna’s Spikevax vaccine for young children.
