Stars send their “love” to Ukrainians

(Kyiv) More than 30 stars, including Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand and Matt Damon, sent their “love” and prayers to Ukraine on Friday in a video marking the one-year anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion.


“We are thinking of you, sending you love, sending you our strength, our prayers, and always keep you in our hearts,” Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts said.

Matt Damon for his part said to send a message of “love, respect and solidarity with all our brothers and sisters in Ukraine”.

“This is an act of aggression not provoked by a country [la Russie] 30 times bigger than its victim”, Ukraine, noted in this video Liev Schreiber, another actor and screenwriter.

Singer and actress Barbra Streisand assured that Ukrainians would be supported “as long as necessary”. “You have been an inspiration all over the world,” she added.

While Ethan Hawke, a third actor and screenwriter, launched for the Ukrainians: “You are fighting for all of us”.

“And the force will always be with you,” promised Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga.

The video also included remarks from actor Morgan Freeman, astronaut Scott Kelly, film director Wes Anderson and British pop duo Pet Shop Boys.

“Thank you for those words of support! They are really important to us,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked them on Facebook.
