A page turns at Bayern Munich. Robert Lewandowski ended the suspense. Asked Monday, May 30 at a press conference with the Polish selection, the striker said that his “story” with the German club had “touched at his end” after eight years that allowed him to become a legend in Bavaria. “I realize that a transfer will be the best solution for both parties”he specified.

Lawandowski announced two weeks ago that he would not extend his current contract, which expires in June 2023. The only way for Bayern Munich to make a financial profit from his departure is therefore to sell him this summer. Crowned best player in the world by the International Football Federation in 2020 and 2021, the 33-year-old international has given no indication of his future.

Since 2014, the Pole (129 caps) has scored 344 goals with Bayern and won the Bundesliga eight times, in addition to two first titles won with Dortmund. He has mostly won the Champions League in 2020.

Robert Lewandowski has broke a significant number of goalscoring records, including the number of goals in a single Bundesliga season. With 41 goals in 202-2021, he brought down a mark that the Germans thought was eternal: Gerd Müller’s 40 goals in the 1972 season.
