Stade Toulouse won their sixth Champions Cup on the afternoon of Saturday May 25 in London, beating the Irish Leinster. Supporters celebrate in the streets of Toulouse.
We had to wait until the end of extra time for Stade Toulouse to once again reach the roof of Europe. After a fierce battle, Antoine Dupont and his teammates exulted, as did the supporters at Place du Capitole, in Toulouse (Haute-Toulouse). Regulation time was marked by a series of penalties, and a lot of commitment from the Rouge et Noir.
The two teams separated with a level score at the end of both halves. The match went into overtime, thanks to a first try from Matthis Lebel. Leinster regained the score thanks to a try validated by the referee, but the Toulouse defense held, and Thomas Ramos gave the club victory thanks to a penalty in the final moments of the match. Ugo Mola’s men won their sixth European Cup.
