Stade Rennais win against Dynamo Kyiv thanks to a late goal from Doué

Thanks to Terrier and Doué, Stade Rennais won against Dynamo Kyiv in a match whose outcome took time to emerge.

The movie of the game

Rennes’ success will have taken a lot, probably too much, of time to take shape this Thursday evening at Roazhon Park against Dynamo Kyiv. Very largely dominating, the Rennais opened the scoring in the 23rd minute thanks to a strike under the bar from the left foot of Martin Terrier (1-0, 23rd). As often, Stade Rennais fell asleep after the opener. Ten minutes later, Tsygankov tied the two teams by beating Mandanda in two stages (1-1, 33′). Both teams return to the locker room with a scoreless draw.

In the second period, Rennes completely stifled the Ukrainian team and multiplied the chances. But they fish in the last gesture. At the very end of the match, while five players trained at the club were on the pitch following the changes, it was one of them who tipped the match. Draft until then, Désiré Doué recovers a ball near the surface presents himself against Boyko, and deceives the opposing porter with composure (2-1, 89th). Rennes come out of this meeting with a deserved victory.

The Rennes share the top of group B with Fenervahçe, winner 2-0 at home against Larnaca.
