Stade Lavallois wins in Cholet and signs a historic series

The Stade Lavallois team never stops winning. And in Cholet, the Mayenne club has taken another step forward. The Tango won with a two-goal margin for the first time away. It is also the first time Laval has scored three goals in a game. And then, what about these current series. Eighth consecutive away win (series started in September at Avranches). And especially seventh consecutive success in the league, which is quite simply a record in the history of the Laval club.

As in Boulogne in December, the Laval residents found themselves behind. Cholet scored quickly (9′) from a free kick. But without panicking, the Tangos equalized while being patient and calm (Baudry, 35′) following a corner from Laval.

And it’s as much serenity as Laval took control of the game as soon as the locker room returned. Striker Geoffray Durbant found the net after three games without scoring. The Guadeloupean scored his 13th goal this season and regained his place as national co-top scorer.

Olivier Frapolli’s team was on track to achieve its objective of continuing the good series in progress. The last challenge was perhaps to make the end of the match easier. And for the first time outside, the Mayenne footballers managed to break away (Maggiotti 80′) against a Cholet team, physically blunted by this sixth match in three weeks.

Stade Lavallois moved into the leader’s seat alone for the first time this season and now have a two-point lead over their immediate pursuer, Concarneau.

The reaction

The Laval coach, Olivier Frapollisavors this new success on the move: “we have an incredible collective strength outside“.
