Without playing this Friday evening, Stade Lavallois had a small chance of getting their ticket to Ligue 2. But the Villefranche team decided otherwise by beating another competitor on the rise, Châteauroux, 2-1. Stade Lavallois are four points ahead of Villefranche while there are two matches left (and potentially six points to take) to the Caladois.
What is now certain is that Stade Lavallois will finish on the National podium. But Olivier Frapolli’s team can still finish the season in third place and therefore compete in the play-offs against the 18th in Ligue 2.
To validate his ticket for the next level, the Mayenne footballers will have to win on Monday May 2 in Chambly or else postpone the deadline again.
Regarding the battle for the title of National champion, Annecy is once again putting pressure on Stade Lavallois by beating Sète 3-0 (thanks to a hat-trick from former Lavallois, Alexis Bosetti). The two teams are tied with 63 points.
The Chambly / Laval match, Monday May 2, at 6:45 p.m., will be live on France Bleu Mayenne.
