They are already stamping with impatience. The footballers of the Orvault club, in Regional 1, will face the weekend of October 29-30, the professionals of Stade Lavallois, Ligue 2 club. The draw for the 7th round of the French Cup was carried out this Wednesday at Clairfontaine. “We really hoped to receive, so we are satisfied on this point. Everyone will remember this meeting I hope“says Jérôme Allard, Orvault’s coach.
“I will have to work to prepare well for this match. It will be a different context than our championship. It’s going to be another preparation, but we won’t have to change our habits too much either. I want the same routine for my players. You will have to score. It will be necessary not to have played the match before. We have an important meeting this weekend too [contre le club du Stade Mayennais FC, ndlr]. Everything in its time” delays the coach of Orvault.
A playful, forward-looking team
In their Regional 1 championship, the Orvals have only played one game (defeat at home against Les Sables d’Olonne in September). Since then, Jérôme Allard’s men have chained performances in the French Cup. They eliminated the Montenay team in Mayenne (D1) last weekend. A priori, the Tango are rather lucky on paper. Mistrust all the same retorts the coach of the opposing team.
“We are on the continuity of last season with a team that remains young, with some players who for me could play at the top level. This is a group that has been used to working together for two seasons. Me, I remain a pro-Nantes so of course we try to play football. As an educator, I have this mission to establish a game project for the whole club. So if our seniors don’t play ball and aren’t a playful team and a team that takes risks, I would deviate a little from my principles. My coaching colleagues at the weekend tell me that we are a boring team to play. I think we can cause problems at Stade Lavallois and we will try to play to our strengths” concludes Jérôme Allard.
