For its last match of the year 2021 in the league and at Le Basser, the players from Stade Lavallois offered their audience a great victory. Laval dominated Chambly 2-1 after being led 1-0 at the half-hour mark. A goal scored on a block while the Tango dominated in possession of the ball. Fortunately, Chambly’s advance was short-lived since a few minutes later, Bryan goncalves sent the ball into the net with a free kick located about 25 meters from the opposing goal. It is the second goal this season for the central defender, the first in the league.

The two teams return back to back to the locker rooms. The start of the second period remains to the advantage of Laval and we do not have to wait very long to see Laval take the advantage for the first time. Huge work from the attacker Yohan Brun, holder for the second time this season, allows Geoffray Durbant to score his eleventh goal of the season with a header.
Except at the very end of the match, on four consecutive corners, Laval was not really worried in the second half. This is the 4th success of the Mayenne club in five matches. Laval have won nine of their last twelve matches. In the standings, the Stadium is 5th with 29 points three lengths from the podium.
Stade Lavallois will end next Saturday (December 18) with its match in the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France at Quevilly-Rouen Métropole.
The reaction
The Laval coach, Olivier Frapolli, is satisfied with this success at home which enhances the victory obtained at Boulogne last week: “since our first victory against Cholet, we have been on a nine-game winning streak in twelve matches. We are doing a good operation“.
