Stabbing in Lachine

A woman was seriously injured by a knife on Saturday morning in the borough of Lachine, in Montreal. His life is out of danger and a suspect was arrested in the process.

A call was made to 911 around 11 a.m. concerning a woman with upper body injuries in a building on rue Camille, near rue Ouellette. The police located the victim, a seriously injured 30-year-old woman. She was conscious and was transported to a hospital, said a spokesperson for the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Véronique Dubuc.

The woman was allegedly assaulted inside the building by the suspect, a 47-year-old man who was arrested by police shortly after their arrival. He has a criminal record for multiple offenses of various kinds.

A security perimeter has been erected in the area.

A gun thrown out the window

As the police went to the building where the woman was assaulted, they saw a man throw an object through the window of his building, also on rue Camille. The police found that it was a modified pellet gun.

A perimeter was erected to locate the suspects in the building. A 40-year-old man has been arrested, and more arrests may be made. The operation is still in progress.
