A 16-year-old boy was stabbed Thursday afternoon in front of a high school in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal. His life is not in danger, but the Montreal police have opened an investigation, because two other young people considered as suspects fled before the arrival of the patrollers.

According to the first information transmitted by the police, an altercation would have been linked between three young people, around 3 p.m. Thursday, during which the victim was stabbed, suffering lacerations in the back and cheeks. Everything took place near the Collège Reine-Marie, a private secondary school located at the corner of boulevard Saint-Michel and rue Champdoré.
“For the moment, the victim is more or less collaborating with the investigators,” said agent Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), specifying that no complaint has been received. been formulated.
The 16-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment for injuries, but there is currently nothing that puts his life at risk. “The two other young people involved fled,” detailed Mr. Bergeron. No arrests have yet been made at this stage.
An investigation was nevertheless opened. The police could in particular view the videotapes of surveillance cameras of businesses or other establishments located nearby, and meet potential witnesses of the scene. The police also erected a security perimeter on the spot, in addition to requesting the assistance of a dog handler to try to identify additional clues.
Four in less than two weeks
This is the fourth violent event involving young people near a school in less than two weeks.
Earlier this week, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) opened an investigation after the online publication of a video where we see a young minor violently stabbing another teenager, in front of a school in Vaudreuil-Dorion. Again, the victim was injured, but his condition was not considered critical.
“Too much violence at such a young age in the Greater Montreal area, it must stop,” implored the Rap Culture Montreal page on Instagram, a community with tens of thousands of subscribers on Instagram, which relayed videos of the incident.
In Montreal, last Friday, a 14-year-old teenager was stabbed in the courtyard of a school in the borough of Anjou. The previous Monday, an 18-year-old man had also been attacked by three people, in the afternoon, inside the Maisonneuve college.
