General manager Doug Armstrong said Binnington tested positive for the coronavirus.

There is some uncertainty as to whether Binnington has symptoms or not.

“It’s not good news,” said coach Craig Berube. The only thing we can do is move on.

“This is one more obstacle to overcome. ”

Tyler Bozak is the other Blues player who is on the protocol.

David Perron, James Neal and Klim Kostin are unavailable due to injuries.

The club plan to recall goalkeeper Charlie Lindgren on Friday. But in preparation for Thursday night’s game in Tampa, league rules about the salary cap dictate the use of an emergency reservist.

Ville Husso will be in front of the net, with Kyle Konin as reservist.

The 23-year-old Konin most recently kept goals in 2019-20, with Grand Valley State University. He paints guardian masks.

Binnington was the Blues’ No. 1 goalie when they won the Stanley Cup in 2019.

This season he’s 8-5-3 and 2.80 GAA.

Husso is 3-1-0 and 1.76 GAA.
