“We’re going to take a little YouTube break. Not very long. Two, three months“: this is what Squeezie announced Monday evening in a video posted on the platform, three days after the release on Amazon Prime Video of the documentary dedicated to his journey, Thanks internet. The YouTuber, who has experienced a meteoric rise and today has 18.7 million subscribers, has decided to take a breather.
“We made the decision there to rest“, declares Squeezie, whose real name is Lucas Hauchard, who turns 28 on Saturday. “Casually, the doc, it was the project perhaps a little too much, in addition to the rest, I mean“, explains the YouTuber.
“You will rest well, but I still have Gentle Mates (its esports structure, Editor’s note), the lives, the gaming channel that I will continue. But on the main channel, we decided to make a little gap of videos for two, three months, just to rest, to have clear ideas, to have some inspiration too“, he detailed.
The director and editor of the documentary Théodore Bonnet told AFP before the release of Thanks internet that Squeezie was going to make a “real break (for) several months” on his channel “to come back strong”.
But the YouTuber then informed various media, via his production company, that he did not intend to stop. However, Squeezie will take a break. “We’ve been filming since 2019” for the documentary, he says in his video titled Last one for a while, thanks. “I hope, guys, that you are going to rest well. I will have news, obviously, of cocktails by the pool”he adds.
