The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) began dismantling the pro-Palestinian camp that activists set up about two weeks ago in Victoria Square, near the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) office on Friday.
The police intervention took place two days after two CAQ ministers, François Bonnardel and Pascale Déry, denounced Montreal’s “wait-and-see” attitude regarding the issue of pro-Palestinian camps established in the metropolis.
The pro-Palestinian protesters had set up camp demanding that the CDPQ renounce “its $14 billion investment in 87 companies identified as complicit in the genocide.” […] of the Palestinian people.”
