(Davos) Quick goals from Andrew Rowe and Leon Bristedt were enough for HC Davos to defeat Canada 2-1 on Tuesday at the Spengler Cup.

The Spengler Cup is an annual hockey tournament between European teams — and a club of Canadian professionals — organized by HC Davos.

Rowe and Bristedt scored in the first two minutes of the game to give HC Davos the lead (1-0-0).

Sandro Aeschlimann made 28 saves in the win.

Brett Connolly replied for Canada (0-2-0) in the second period. He had scored both goals for his team in Monday’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of HC Sparta Prague.

Connor Hughes stopped 22 shots for Canada.

Neither team scored on the power play. Davos was 0-for-4 while Canada was 0-for-2 on the power play.
