With his second film, O cornoSpanish director Jaione Camborda won the “Concha de Oro” (the golden shell), the most prestigious prize at the San Sebastian festival, in the Spanish Basque Country, on Saturday evening.
The director’s second feature film, O corno tells the story of a shellfish harvester who lives in a coastal town in Galicia in the 1970s and helps women give birth, but also to terminate their pregnancies. “It’s very special for me to receive this award here, in this city where I grew up.reacted the director.

Palmares
The film Puan by Argentinians Maria Alché and Benjamin Naishtat won the prizes for best screenplay and best actor, going to Argentinian Marcelo Subiotto, tied with Japanese Tatsuya Fuji.
The Silver Shell for best achievement went to Taiwanese Tzu-Hui Peng and Ping-Wen Wang, for Chun Xing.
Among the stars who came to San Sebastian were Juliette Binoche, Jessica Chastain and Madds Mikelsen. The festival also paid tribute to Spanish actor Javier Bardem.
The Boy and the Heronthe latest animated film by famous Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki, was presented for the first time in Europe at the opening.
