It was only a matter of hours. The transfer of Manchester City player Ferran Torres to FC Barcelona was formalized on Tuesday, December 28. The 21-year-old Spain international is signed until 2027, the Catalan club have announced.

“FC Barcelona and Manchester City have reached an agreement on the transfer of Ferran Torres, who has signed with the Blaugrana club until 2027“, explained Barça in a statement on its website.
Ferran Torres is therefore back in Spain, only a year and a half after leaving Valencia, his training club. The sum of his transfer is estimated at 55 million euros by the Spanish press, which makes him the most expensive Spanish rookie in the club’s history, ahead of David Villa (40 million euros in 2010). He will have disputed 43 games and 16 goals for the Citizens, and won the Premier League in 2021 as well as the English League Cup.
