Sunday July 23, Spain must elect its deputies, and therefore its new government. The current Socialist Prime Minister is a loser. If it comes out on top, the right-wing popular party will no doubt have to make an alliance with the extreme right.

Three men are at the heart of the ballot in Spain. First, there is Pedro Sánchez, the Socialist Prime Minister. His opponent is the conservative Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Then there is Santiago Abascal, the leader of the far-right party. In power for five years, Pedro Sánchez repeats that he still believes in victory. At his last campaign meeting, on July 21, he threw his last strength into battle. We have crossed objectives while flying, we have climbed all the unimaginable passes and we have a few meters left to reach the final sprint (…)“, did he declare.

Join the far-right party

But in the polls today, the favorite is Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the People’s Party, who already sees himself leading the country. But if he does not obtain an absolute majority, he will have to ally himself with the extreme right party, Vox. This party is anti-Europe, anti-abortion and climatosceptic. Today it is the third political force in the country.
