(Madrid) The regional governments of Catalonia and Aragon have been unable to reach an agreement to submit a joint bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics in the Pyrenees, the Spanish Olympic Committee announced on Monday.

The committee said local government officials had met but were unable to agree on a common bid that would have hosted the Olympics near Barcelona.
The government of Aragon had recently complained that the project was not shared fairly, stressing in passing that Catalonia would get most of the sporting events.
The Spanish Olympic Committee added that it will continue talks with the Spanish government to find other alternatives for a possible bid.
Spain hosted the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, but has failed at every attempt since.
