Dominating and in a very Spanish style, with wide possession of the ball, the Roja tamed Italy, Thursday, June 15, in the semi-final of the League of Nations (2-1), to join Croatia, winner of the Netherlands, in the final. Already finalists of the last edition, lost against France, the Spaniards had to wait for a goal from Joselu in the last minutes (88e) to validate their ticket.

La Roja had opened the scoring very early in the match, through Yeremy Pino (4th), after Gavi recovered the ball from the feet of Leonardo Bonucci near the Italian surface, but Squadra Azzurra equalized in the stride on a penalty scored by Ciro Immobile after a handball from Robin Le Normand (11th). The Brittany-born defender was celebrating his first cap with Spain, alongside another naturalized Frenchman, Aymeric Laporte, in central defence. They will play the final on Sunday June 18 at 8:45 p.m.

If they have long contained the Spanish assaults, with in particular saving interventions from Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Italians, winners of the Euro in 2021, are experiencing a new disappointment after their non-qualification for the last World Cup.
