The tomatoes of discord in Spain. “Spanish tomatoes are inedible”these comments from Ségolène Royal offended even the Prime Minister. “I think Madame Royal didn’t have the chance to taste our tomatoes”said Pedro Sanchez. “I invite her to come to Spain to taste any of our varieties and she will see that Spanish tomatoes are unbeatable”. Since then, tasting operations have been set up and a visit to a farm to prove to the whole world that Spanish organic tomatoes respect the same rules as other European countries.
Farmer mobilization continues in Portugal
In Portugal, the mobilization of farmers does not weaken. The latter are maintaining their blockage while awaiting progress from their government. “We will stay here until we get answers.”, said a farmer. A new meeting with the Minister of Agriculture is planned for next week.
