The return to Earth of the French astronaut Thomas Pesquet and his three teammates has been postponed and will take place Tuesday, November 9 at dawn, announced Sunday the Nasa, due to strong winds.
The wind still blows quite hard on the beaches of Cape Canaveral, Florida (United States), and the sea is still very rough. This explains the postponement of Thomas’ return to Earth. Pesquet. It is postponed to Monday, November 8 at 8 p.m. for the decoupling of the International Space Station and the arrival in the Atlantic Ocean off Florida is scheduled for Tuesday 4 a.m., explains France Télévisions correspondent Loïc de la Mornais Sunday evening in the 11 p.m.
The Dragon capsule of the French astronaut and the three teammates will land off the coast of Florida in one of the seven demarcated areas. First, a series of small SpaceX boats will meet the capsule to make sure all is well. Then, a bigger ship will go up with a crane the capsule. And it is on the deck of this boat that the cosmonauts will be able to get out. And if the sea is rough, these operations cannot take place. Must therefore wait for an improvement. Once on board, Thomas Pesquet will undergo some medical tests before a helicopter brings him back to dry land.
