Spa treatment and thalasso to find a good sleep

Why can’t I fall asleep? Why do I wake up at night? Why do I have hypersomnia? Understanding the mechanisms of sleep to better apprehend it is part of the preventive program of cures at the Thermes de Bourbon-Lancy, in Saône-et-Loire.

Its director, Loïc Machillot explains that “the quality of Bourbon-Lancy water has a high lithium content which plays on moods and provides a reassuring and calming benefit. The covering treatments, with mud and the jet pool, allow the muscles to relax. which hurt and this has an impact on sleep, more generally it is at night that this type of pain wakes us up.”

Physical well-being is inseparable from mental well-being. Thanks to sessions of sophrology and cardiac coherence, we learn to breathe better. “If we manage our stress better, continues the specialist, sleep will be improved. And vice versa. In addition, back pain is often linked to restless sleep.

For a restful sleep, you must have a balanced diet, eat light in the evening, and during the day, move! In Bourbon-Lancy, there are sensory walks in the forest and Nordic walking.

The 6-day anti-stress stay with 24 treatments costs 260 euros per person, price without accommodation.

Stays to manage stress and improve the quality of sleep are presented at the Salon des Thermalies, in Paris and then in Lyon. (THERMALIES.COM)

On the thalassotherapy side, a Sea/Sleep cure is offered at the Emeria Dinard center in Brittany. With 24 treatments provided in 6 days.

“Care with seawater is the heart of our business. With the applications of seaweed, they allow a tired body to recharge in trace elements and minerals”, recalls Brigitte Bérot.

This wellness coach offers 20-minute micro-naps, where you learn to focus on your breathing. “Once you are in the feeling and this full awareness of the breath, you are not in the head, you are not up there. You cannot be in both places at the same time. And this are all those cumulative seconds that make it possible to get off the hook.”

Also on the program are massages of the arch of the foot with a bowl, the famous Indian kansu.

“This releases the tensions, and in addition the boiling that we can feel inside our body escapes, that is to say that the fire of the body is evacuated by this handling of the bowl under soles of the feet.”

And the great novelty are the immersive relaxation sessions in virtual reality. In a semi-recumbent position, you dive using a helmet in a natural landscape (seabed, lake, waterfall…) at 360 degrees.

“And in the helmet is diffused the voice of a sophrologist, who guides a session at the same time, as we explore the landscape, and we diffuse oils of Ylang-ylang to manage to accentuate this calm, which will then allow you to slide more easily into the arms of Morpheus.”

The 6-day cure, Mer du Sommeil, at the Emeria Dinard center also offers

The Sea Sleep cure is from 1704 euros per person in a double room with half board.
