The bad weather induced by the violent thunderstorms of the previous day will persist on Friday and part of the weekend across most of the regions of Quebec, where the mercury will be significantly lower.
The violent thunderstorms that swept through southern Quebec on Thursday evening will give way to alternating sun and clouds on Friday, while showers are expected later in the evening, particularly in the Outaouais, Montreal and Montérégie.
The rain will start a little earlier for western areas, such as Abitibi-Témiscamingue, bringing temperatures down to 12 degrees, according to Environment Canada, which forecasts gusts of 40 km/h.
The weather will generally be cloudy in the center of the province where the Estrie, Quebec and Beauce sectors will also receive their share of showers overnight from Friday to Saturday, while in eastern Quebec, the weather will alternate between clouds, showers and a few sunny spells.
Saturday, the rain will still wet most areas of Quebec with the exception of a few places in the east of the province, such as Bas-Saint-Laurent, according to forecasts from the federal agency.
The day of Sunday promises to be under better metrological auspices, with generally sunny weather with a few passing clouds for most sectors, especially in the south where the mercury will stabilize at 22 degrees.
