In South Africa, 259 people died in the massive floods that hit the country last weekend. On Wednesday April 13, the Durban region was the most affected.
A building was literally crushed, shredded by a flow which dug its furrow, regardless of the obstacles, Wednesday, April 13. From one district to another in the metropolis of Durban (South Africa)the torrent sucked up houses. Never had South Africa experienced such floods. Whole days of precipitation fell, water seeped everywhere. Residents try to flee. The roads do not resist and dozens of motorists find themselves trapped.
The provisional toll already counts 259 dead. “Look at this tanker truck on the beach, it got swept away by the river and ended up in the ocean”says a resident. Some got away with it. In the port of Durban, heaps of upside-down containers testify to the force of the torrents. The Head of State speaks of an immense catastrophe for his country.
