SOS Homophobia denounces Emmanuel Macron’s “extremely transphobic speech”

Julia Torlet, president and spokesperson for SOS Homophobia, denounces Wednesday June 19 on franceinfo, the “extremely transphobic speech” by Emmanuel Macron. On Tuesday, the president attacked the program of the New Popular Front, calling it“ubuesques” certain measures “like going to change sex at the town hall”. The New Popular Front plans to“authorize the change of civil status freely and free of charge before a civil status officer” for transgender people.

The president of SOS Homophobia sees this “a political maneuver to seduce the electorate” far-right parties. “Minorities and transgender people are completely exploited to serve the race for political power”deplores Julia Torlet. “Attacks on the LGBT+ community, on trans people and minorities in general are the spearhead of the speeches of far-right parties.”
