At dawn on Monday, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was not yet able to confirm the gender and identity of the person. The house is located on Turcotte Street.

The exact circumstances of the fire were not yet known. However, police officers from the Sûreté du Québec proceeded shortly after the report of the fire to the arrest of two people in the vicinity.

It is not known whether the person’s death was caused by the fire or by an assault he may have suffered.

The two people captured are to be interviewed by police later so investigators can shed more light on what happened.

Fire scene technicians were already at work Monday morning to examine the rubble of the house on Turcotte Street, which is located in a residential area.
