Actress Sophie Turner filed a lawsuit Thursday against her husband, musician Joe Jonas, demanding that their two children be returned to England.
The couple announced their plans to divorce this month.
Sophie Turner said Joe Jonas refused to give her the children’s passports, preventing them from returning to their “habitual residence” in England, according to a motion filed in the Southern District of New York.
The children have dual American and British citizenship, according to court documents, which identify them by the initials WRJ (for the child born in 2020) and DM J. (for the child born in 2022).
Jeff Raymond, a representative for Joe Jonas, said by email that an order filed in court in Florida, where the divorce proceedings were initiated, prohibited the parents from moving the children. If Jonas provided the passports to Turner, he would be violating this order.
