Sophie Marceau single and on dating sites? “Anything can happen at 50…”

True muse of Lisa Azuelos, Sophie Marceau is the heroine of the director’s new film, I Love America, which will be broadcast on Amazon Prime from March 11, 2022. It is an ambitious project, and at the same time very personal, that the two cinephiles completed together. The feature film, inspired by real events, tells the story of Lisa, daughter of a celebrity and single mother of grown children who leaves Paris to go to Los Angeles, in search of love… but also in search of forgiveness, she who had such a strained relationship with her deceased mother.

This synopsis is reminiscent of the life of Lisa Azuelos, daughter of Marie Laforêt – who died on November 2, 2019 at the age of 80 – and that of Sophie Marceau, single mother of Vincent Zulawski, born in 1995 and Juliette Lemley, born in 2002 …who have both left the nest. “It’s in order of thingsexplains the 55-year-old actress to Star TV. Children grow up and they leave. For twenty years, thirty years, you start a family, then you find yourself with the last part of your life to fill. How to approach it? Like everyone else, I ask myself the question. I have to get out of my habits, work on myself. Life is made of evolutions and changes.”

Little chance of crossing her on dating apps, unlike her character in I Love America. Sophie Marceau never reveals much about her private life and does not intend to do so on Tinder, Bumble and other OKCupid. “Anything can happen at 50, provided you don’t have too many burdens on your shoulders, understand past mistakes and know where you arecontinues the actress. But you see me on a dating site, frankly? If I hadn’t been Sophie Marceau, would I have gone to a dating site? A priori, this is not the thing that excites me! Afterwards, it is possible to find love on the networks! It depends on what you’re looking for. What matters is not to withdraw into oneself. There really are people, even very coveted ones, who suffer from loneliness...”
