Sophie Marceau elegant in a suit… next to a star of the Sex Education series!

The Unifrance meetings took place in Paris from January 11 to 17, 2022 in rather special circumstances. As the Covid-19 pandemic has not calmed down so much, the majority of meetings have taken place by videoconference and some films have been broadcast online. This restricted form of the event, adapted to the current health context, was nevertheless reinforced by nice exchanges as well as the screening of 88 films, including 55 unpublished.

The programming of these Unifrance meetings began on January 13, 2021 at the Le Balzac cinema, with the film Simone – The trip of the century, by Olivier Dahan, with Elsa Zylberstein. The cultural event ended on January 17 with an incredible number of interviews, which the French actors granted, remotely, to the international press. Céline Sciamma, Pascal Elbé and Sophie Marceau lent themselves to the game, as did Zbeida Belhajamor, Leyla Bouzid and Sami Outalbali – the small French of the series Sex Education ! for A story of love and desire, Robert Guédiguian and Stéphane Bak for Twist in Bamako, Kev Adams and Thomas Gilou for Retirement home, Josiane Balasko and Eric Lavaine for A visit to my daughter, Fanny Ardant and Melvil Poupaud for The Young Lovers, Leïla Bekhti , Damien Bonnard and Joachim Lafosse for The Intranquilles.

The Unifrance meetings took place for the 24th time in history. Other raw talents joined the festivities during these few cultural days, despite health restrictions and the limited number of places, such as Marine Foïs – and her new haircut! -, Audrey Fleurot or Agathe Rousselle, recently discovered by the public in the film Titanium by Julia Ducournau. Let’s hope that the 25th edition will take place, all the same, under better auspices…
