Selected to be part of the crew which will travel to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2026, Sophie Adenot will become the second French woman to travel into space, thirty years after Claudie Haigneré.

A trip planned for 2026 alongside Belgian astronaut Raphaël Liégeois, towards the International Space Station (ISS). “This announcement came very quickly and a bit of a surprise. I am delighted and very honored”declared Sophie Adenot.
Just one month after obtaining her astronaut diploma, Sophie Adenot will become the 2nd French woman to go into space after Claudie Haigneré in 1996. On social networks, the President of the Republic was quick to congratulate the Former Air Force pilot: “There are announcements that make you dizzy: she has been selected! (…) Happy for her and proud for France”. A long preparation now begins for the lucky lady.
