Preferred housing for the French, individual housing could be doomed to disappear. The reason ? Its ecological impact and all that it generates. Specialists recommend resorting to collective housing.

Almost 64% of French people dream of having a car, a house, a terrace and a garden. A type of accommodation that continues to inspire dreams, and has been for years. But because of the difficulties in heating these homes and insulating them, experts would like to put an end to it. To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, France should abandon single-family homes. “The absurdity of the thing is that there is no consideration of the context linked to the climate”, explains Arnaud Galezowski, architect of the firm JAAG.

To overcome the problem, the solution suggested by experts would be to promote the construction of collective housing. TO Viroflay, in the Yvelines, a habitat of this kind will be built, with vegetated terraces. “Each accommodation offers, at a minimum, a terrace or a balcony. We are on an average surface of 13 square meters “, Explain Aurelien-Pierre Martin, branch manager at Bouygues Immobilier. For the owners of individual dwellings, it is out of the question to exchange with an apartment.
