An agreement between government and unions on value sharing creates obligations for profitable companies. SMEs are now also affected.

From 2025, small businesses could be forced to share their profits with employees. This is what is provided for in a bill soon to be presented to Parliament: if it is adopted, companies with 11 to 49 employees which make a profit equivalent to 1% of their turnover for three years in a row, will have to redistribute a part to their teams.

A “form of recognition”

In an SME in the Paris region which markets food products, the boss has taken the lead. Its employees can buy shares in the company, via vouchers. Sharing measures are welcome for employees. “It is a form of recognition, both financially but also recognition of his investment, and of the work accomplished”believes Elise Andreani, logistics manager.
