We could imagine that all Miss France have a WhatsApp group, like the candidates for season 2 of Star Academy, who meet up every year at holiday time. But the reality seems quite different, as Sonia Rolland reveals in an interview with TV Star this Thursday, December 28, 2023. The former Miss France, elected in December 1999, who finished ninth in the Miss Universe 2000 competition, revealed behind the scenes of the Miss France universe, and is one of the first to lift the veil on the relationships that Miss France maintains out of sight ; and without any surprise, not all of them are friends, and some are even enemies !
“Miss France is a summary of our human society. You have to see the pressure they are under. It is obvious that there can be enmities. But we tried to create characters who weren’t stupid and mean.” explained the one who is currently in full promotion of her TV film An unexpected destiny, which she designed herself and which is autobiographical in scope. Indeed, this TV film, which will be broadcast on January 3, 2024, is freely inspired by the young woman’s journey from her childhood to her year as Miss: in the TV movie, Nadia, a mixed race of Rwandan origin, is rejected from a possible career as a basketball player because of a bad temper. Her father and friends pushed her to register for the Miss Poitou-Charentes competition. She accepts willy-nilly without imagining that this first step will lead her towards an unexpected destiny.
In this TV film, written and directed by Sonia Rolland, the actress will not appear in the casting. The Miss will be played by the young actress Esther Rollande, who is getting her very first leading role in a TV movie. The actress Clementine Célariéwhich recently caused controversy by signing the platform of support in favor of Gérard Depardieu, will play the role of a collaborator of the late Geneviève de Fontenay, who left us on August 1, 2023 at the age of 89. Thierry Godard is also in the cast, as is Mata Gabin.
Some Misses are the best friends in the world
If some Misses may indeed not have any hooked atoms, others have established nice friendly ties. This is particularly the case of Valérie Bègue and Alexandra Rosenfeld, since the two best friends are the respective godmothers of their daughters: Valérie Bègue is the godmother of Ava, 13, and Alexandra Rosenfeld is the godmother of the daughter her friend had with swimmer Camille Lacourt in 2010, and whose first name remains confidential. In the city, Miss Iris Mittenaere, Laury Thilleman and Marine Ltemporel are also very good friends, and regularly appear together in charity galas.
