Songblazers | The roots of country by Cirque du Soleil

A new Cirque du Soleil show will be on display in Nashville in July. Titled Songblazersit was created with the collaboration of Hank Williams’ grandson.


Nashville, which Americans call “ music city », will host a creation by Cirque du Soleil which will pay homage to pioneers of country music, a style of music intimately associated with the capital of Tennessee.

The show created in collaboration with Universal Music Group Nashville is entitled Songblazers – A Journey Into Country Music. It was written and directed by Amy Tinkham and Hank Williams’ grandson, Saul Williams, collaborated on the music.

“Where I come from, most people don’t go to the circus,” said the musician, in a press release released by Cirque du Soleil on Monday. We go to fairs and carnivals, and the carnival in a small town is filled with joy, excitement, mystery and euphoria. » He predicts that these feelings will inhabit the spectators who see Songblazers.

The plot of the show will follow two main characters “who are carving their own paths to country music recognition.” He will of course rely on acrobatic numbers and well-known country songs.

Pre-sale for this show begins this Monday and general sale will begin Friday. This new Cirque du Soleil show is designed for touring: after a series of performances in Nashville, it will travel to several cities in Texas, Louisiana and Missouri.
