Between the new health protocol at school and the explosion of cases of Covid-19, SMEs that cannot systematically resort to teleworking are experiencing a real headache.

Many SMEs have to adapt and deal with employee absenteeism. It’s a real headache for Patrivia, a small company that manages the ticket office for historic monuments. “A person who is absent for a day, a week, two weeks, we are not going to replace him. It slows down us in our process of development of the company”, deplores Christian Clarke of Dromantin, the general manager.

Normally, ten employees are present. Today, half of the workforce is missing. An employee, contact case of her husband, is teleworking and must take care of her baby at the same time. “You have to be able to meet the client’s needs, sometimes having your baby in your arms, apologizing to the client”, explains Anne Fleury, Head of Partnerships at Patrivia. It is impossible for the company to hire temporary workers. So, to canvass museums and new monuments, the company is falling behind and losing money.
