You won’t have the opportunity to witness the total solar eclipse of April 8 from your balcony? The eclipse will only be partial in your region and you want to attend the entire event? You don’t have glasses with a filter that complies with the ISO 12312-2 standard? Whatever the reason, here are some suggestions for watching the solar eclipse safely, behind a screen.
The ASTROLab at Mont Mégantic, located in the heart of the totality band, will present the eclipse live on Facebook, as well as on YouTube, or on the Éclipses Québec website, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Across the border (and in English), NASA will also follow the path of the eclipse, from Mexico to the Maritimes, and will offer a live broadcast of the event via various telescopes, starting at 1 p.m.
