To save money, some people would be ready to sacrifice their hygiene. According to a study, many French people have reduced their purchases of shampoo, toothpaste or other creams.

Use as few nappies as possible for your baby, but also fewer personal hygiene products or fewer household products to clean your home… More and more French people today have to make these choices, due to lack of money. “To have good prices, you have to have large volumes”, confides a customer of a supermarket. According to a study, 4 out of 10 French people have already tried to reduce their consumption of hygiene products.

It is even nearly 5 out of 10 French people among those under 35 and among the most modest. Among the products that some give up, include moisturizers, shampoo or toothpaste. Another disturbing figure: 17% of women have already given up buying periodic protection, for lack of means. These difficulties could increase in the coming months, due to inflation, the peak of which is expected in the summer of 2022.
