Solving a murder committed in 2022 | The SPVM will deploy a mobile command post on Friday

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal is appealing to the citizens of the borough of Ville-Marie for help in resolving an investigation into a serious crime that occurred in 2022.

Members of the SPVM’s South Criminal Investigation Section will be stationed on Friday, June 30, starting at 11 a.m., at the intersection of Poupart and Ontario East streets “to collect new information from the population concerning serious assaults committed in the sector in August 2022,” according to a statement.

On the night of August 14, 2022, around 1 a.m., a seriously injured man was seen by witnesses in the neighborhood. Jean Gabriel Gustave, 55, succumbed to his injuries on September 11, 2022. The investigation determined that he was the victim of aggravated assault.

Anyone who has been a witness or who believes they have important information relating to these events is invited to go to the site to meet the investigators.

“It is also possible to communicate anonymously and confidentially with Info-Crime Montreal at 514 393-1133 or via the reporting form available on the infocrimemontreal.ca site,” adds the SPVM, which can award rewards of up to $3000 for this gesture.
