Due to inflation and the crisis, the generosity of the French is dried up. Donations of less than 150 euros have fallen by 7%. But a new form of donations is developing. It is done at the store checkout. When paying by credit card, a message suggests rounding the total by donating the difference to an association. Thus, never more than one euro of donations is requested. A quick and confidential donation called cash rounding, which 44% of French people have already tested.

47.7 million euros collected in ten years

In five years of fundraising, the Monoprix supermarket brand has already collected 7 million euros. During collections, it is the brands that pay for the installation and management of bank terminals, but can we really trust this system? “We take no commission and we exempt absolutely nothing from these donations”assures Isabelle Boudard, head of the sustainable development department at Monoprix. Since launch it Ten years ago, 47.7 million euros were collected. Among the beneficiary associations, there is in particular the Paris Hospital Foundation – French Hospitals.
