While the roof of the church in Fruncé, a village in Eure-et-Loir, had to be changed, solar panels were installed there. An investment amortized in part by the sale of electricity. The initiative is rather well received.
In Fruncé (Eure-et-Loir), the village church is fashionable: it has a photovoltaic roof. Among the 400 inhabitants, some say they are seduced by this idea. “It’s a good idea because in today’s world, we talk about ecology, going green“says a young man. “Someone who is not aware will pass his way without noticing anything“says another.
The idea is that of the mayor. Redoing the roof of the church, in poor condition, would have been a financial pitfall for the municipality, so Olivier Daniel decided to replace the slate with solar panels. The electricity produced is resold. Enough to cover three quarters of the monthly installments of the loan taken out for the works. “The objective is that we receive between 8,000 and 9,000 euros in revenue per year, which would allow us to have a reimbursement of 3,500 euros instead of 12,500“, says the mayor. This allows not to increase taxes in the municipality.
