Too many bills for one doctor. This is what alerted Social Security, which suspects a general practitioner from Valence (Drôme) of having fraudulently received 71,000 euros via fictitious appointments, France Bleu Drôme Ardèche learned, Friday October 20.

According to the CPAM of Drôme, the practitioner requested in particular the vital card of accompanying persons during medical appointments. He was interviewed in police custody and denied the facts. He is summoned to appear before the Valence Criminal Court in December 2024.

In 2022, in its annual report, the CPAM estimated the total amount of fraud at 1.7 million euros, with health professionals representing two thirds of this cheating.
