Social Security budget: “We must always leave time for debate”, says Yaël Braun-Pivet

Yael Braun PivetPresident of the National Assembly, is the guest of “4 Truths” on France 2, Thursday, October 20. She first goes back to the use of article 49.3 to adopt the 2023 budget: “The 49.3 is planned for the budget in a specific way. (…) I saw a government which was listening, which dialogued.“ “There were votes on amendments which are partly taken over by the government”she adds, specifying that these amendments come from the government but also from the opposition.

The Social Security budget will be discussed Thursday, October 20 in the National Assembly, with the possibility that Article 49.3 is still used. “You always have to leave time for debate”believes Yael Braun Pivet. She then returns to the debates sparked by the murder of young Lola, and believes that the family’s mourning must be respected: “There is a time for everything, and today is the time to be with the family in solidarity.“ Finally, the President of the Assembly said to herself “convinced” the need to enshrine the right to abortion in the Constitution.
