CF Montreal acquired Canadian defenseman Alistair Johnston from Nashville SC on Monday.
It was obtained in return for $ 750,000 general allowance in 2022 and $ 250,000 general allowance in 2023.
The 23-year-old has signed a two-season pact, with 2024 and 2025 as options years.

From 2015 to 2019, he took part in 17 games with Vaughan SC. He was drafted at 11e rank in 2020, by Nashville.
In two seasons at Tennessee, Johnston played 44 games, including 39 as a starter. He scored one goal and had two assists.
In 2021, Johnston helped his team concede just 33 goals and record 13 shutouts, tied for first in the league.
As a national team, Johnston was first selected with the Canadian senior squad on March 23, 2021.
He played his first game against Bermuda on March 25, in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.
In the next game, he had a goal and an assist against the Cayman Islands on March 29, 2021. He now has 13 qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup, including 11 as a starter.
