So many reasons to laugh this fall

Patricia Paquin and Mathieu Gratton

After The exesa testimonial show created in the mid-2000s, Patricia Paquin And Mathieu Gratton are back with a proper comedy evening: The exseparables. Taking advantage of the undeniable complicity between the former lovers, an often hilarious love-hate relationship, Gratton’s texts address work-family balance, life as a couple and parenthood. Also in the show directed by Joël Legendre will be Benjamin, the autistic son of the duo, and Ghyslain Dufresne, who formed the comedy and musical duo Crampe en masse with Gratton from 1997 to 2005.

At the St-Denis theater on September 26 and 27, at the Capitole theater on October 24, then on tour until February 2025

Jose Gaudet

For almost 25 years, Jose Gaudet lived with Mario Tessier the unusual adventure of the Grandes Gueules. Evolving alone since 2015, the radio and television host still enjoys an exceptional love rating. In 2022, he left It ends the week wella show he co-hosted for nine years on TVA. This fall, at 53 years old, still brimming with energy, the man realizes a dream by unveiling the first solo show of his career: It was about time. In this evening of stand-up traditional, at least in terms of form, the humorist should cast his mocking eye on some of the improbabilities of today’s society.

At the Cinquième salle of Place des Arts on September 30, at the Salle Albert-Rousseau on October 30, then on tour until June 2025

Simon Delisle

In a subtle yet striking style, a humor inspired by his atypical career path by giving pride of place to doubt and cultivating self-mockery, Simon Delisle is back, almost fifteen years after leaving the National School of Humor, with a second solo show, entitled Stain. Of course, we will be talking about his vitiligo, a dermatosis characterized by the appearance of white spots on the skin, but also, more metaphorically, about all those spots that distinguish us, define us, make us unique and precious. “Life is not a gift, it is a fatality. All the more reason to laugh in his face!”

At the Fifth Hall of Place des Arts on the 1er October, at Petit Champlain on November 19, then on tour until June 2025

Megan Fog

Graduated from the National School of Humor in 2020, Megan Fog is not afraid of anything. Giving new meaning to the term “straight talk,” the Drummondville native is as comfortable discussing hockey as she is menstruation, as voluble when it comes to shopping as when she talks about traditional music. Her arrival in the comedy world — she who is also present on TV and radio, not to mention social networks, where she is a real sensation — is not only exciting, it is invigorating. Let me tell you that we can’t wait to attend Couch grasshis first solo show, directed by Matthieu Pepper, is something of an understatement.

Louis T

Titled Alpha malethe third solo of Louis T looks at, as you may have guessed, the contemporary male condition. Adopting a benevolent view, but probably not entirely devoid of bad faith, the forty-year-old, father of two young boys, “questions masculinity, doubts, changes and the supposed crisis that gentlemen are experiencing”. The “committed” comedian announces a show that is less academic than the first two, Objectively speaking And Truths and ConsequencesWe can’t wait to discover this new tone, defined as more accessible, more frankly comical.

At the Duceppe theater on October 16, at the Octave-Crémazie hall on October 23, then on tour until May 2025

Messmer

Since 2007, on stage as well as on television, the charismatic Messmer has the main objective of democratizing hypnosis through laughter. Not hesitating to proclaim himself a master in his field, the fifty-year-old is back with a fourth show, entitled 13Hz (this would be the frequency of the brain’s vibrations when under hypnosis). Still based on interaction with the public, the adventure would lead into a “universe where the border between reality and illusion is erased”. For this new tour, the fascinator is as usual accompanied by his partner, Bellair, but also by his two little girls, Soleil and Magie.

At the Cabaret du Casino on October 21 and 22, then on tour until June 2025

Brick and Brack

Those who know the podcast Un pays dans l’oreille know that Brick and Brack, two sovereignist poets who have never recovered from the 1995 referendum defeat, never do things like everyone else, which is certainly one of their greatest qualities. Now the improbable and endearing duo formed about five years ago by François Ruel-Côté and Sébastien Tessier is announcing its latest media event with great fanfare! Indeed, the ineffable duo of moustachioed men with FLQ affinities is inviting the people of Quebec to attend the final show of its first tour. We will take the opportunity to make a video recording of this undoubtedly historic evening.

At the Lion d’Or, November 6

Martin Vachon

After gripping television adventures such as Big Brother Celebrities (Noovo), How much do you love me? (Noovo) and The world is naked! (TV5Unis), Martin Vachon is back on stage. His new show, which comes six years after 1er appointment: lies and seductionis called Ahh Caramel… and promises a “tasty mix of sweet anecdotes topped with a generous coulis of self-mockery.” When he recounts the juiciest moments of his suburban life, the recently forty-something comedian spares no effort, using his whole body to provoke laughter.

Mona from Grenoble

The time has come for Mona from Grenoblethe first drag queen to devote herself to stand-up in a major tour across the province, to unveil his first solo: Smoke and mirrors. Under the sequins, dresses and big wigs, Mona talks a lot about herself, about her place in a world where illness lurks, where drags abound and where pronouns are less and less binary. The show directed by Vincent Léonard (Les Denis Drolet) will also allow us to learn more about the birth of the character played by Alexandre Aussant, this “aunt on the party ” which is both detestable and very endearing.
