  1. From December 1 to March 15, your vehicle must be fitted with four compliant winter tires in good condition. You can keep them for driving for a longer period;
  2. Have your vehicle tuned up before the cold season;
  3. Plan your trips by informing yourself of road conditions on the Québec 511 website;
  4. Thoroughly remove snow from your vehicle before driving. Turn on your headlights when the weather is dark;
  5. Reduce your speed and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, especially when visibility is poor or the road is slippery.

The Service de police de Châteauguay reminds the population that caution and respect for the rules of conduct in winter can prevent many accidents.

The police will ensure the safety of road users and pedestrians. Tickets will be given to drivers who do not comply with the regulations.

Remember that the snow should set in on Friday morning for the most southern and western regions of the province. Precipitation could continue until Sunday morning.
