Snowboarding | Gaudet and Farrell have to settle for 10th place

Despite a false start, Arnaud Gaudet pulled himself together in the team parallel slalom in Bad Gastein. A comeback which was however insufficient to move on to the next round with her teammate Megan Farrell and which instead earned them a tenth place on Wednesday.

Prequalified for the round of 16, the Canadian duo first had a training run which went very well. Better than in the first round, where they were opposed to the Swiss Glan Casanova and Ladina Jenny, gold medalists in the first team event of the season in Germany.

Gaudet shot himself in the foot from the start by hitting the door before it opened in front of him.

“Let’s say it went badly! It’s never good to start this way and it’s difficult to get back into the race afterwards, commented the Quebecer. It surprised me, because I usually have good timing. »

The sensations were hard to regain after this blunder, but he managed to climb the slope to catch up with Casanova at the bottom of the track. Affected by a virus, Megan Farrell could not maintain the pace and crossed the finish line four hundredths of a second behind Ladina Jenny.

Austrians Andreas Prommegger and Daniela Ulbing defeated Germans Stefan Baumeister and Romona Theresia Hofmeister in the Grand Final. Dario Caviezel and Julie Zogg of Switzerland took bronze.

Arnaud Gaudet will be at the World Cup in Scuol, Switzerland, on Saturday. A parallel giant slalom will be presented there.
