(Zhangjiakou) Quebecer Audrey McManiman made the 13and time during the seeding session for the snowboard cross round of 16 at the Beijing Olympics on Wednesday.

McManiman, a native of Saint-Charles-Borromée, took the 13and rank thanks to its descent of 1: 24.98 minutes. During the round of 16, she will cross swords with the American Stacy Gaskill (4and place), the German Jana Fischer (20and place) and the Italian Sofia Belingheri (29and square).
British Columbian Meryeta Odine was the top Canadian. She produced the third fastest time in qualifying with a time of 1:23.01. She will face Australian Josie Baff (14and rank), COR athlete Alexandra Parshina (19and rank) and China’s He Feng (30and place) in eighths.
The classification session took place in a time trial format. The 32 snowboarders obtained their ticket for the round of 16.
In the round of 16, the races will pit four riders against each other. The first two to cross the finish line will qualify for the quarter-finals.
The other Canadians in the running, Zoe Bergermann and Tess Critchlow respectively took the 24and and the 26and rank.
Italian Michela Moioli set the fastest time of the day with a time of 1:22.19.
