The winter season is often a nightmare for owners of cars parked on the street who try to avoid having their car towed during a snow removal operation. Here are some tips to avoid getting to this point.

With a first snow loading operation set to begin Tuesday morning in the metropolis, the spokesperson for the City of Montreal advised monitoring two hours in particular to know if you will have to move your vehicle: 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
“We look at 3 p.m. for loading which takes place at night. If at 3 p.m. there is no sign, it is because we will not come to do the work from 7 p.m.,” underlined Philippe Sabourin.
The same ploy is repeated at 8 p.m., since it is the last moment to install the no parking signs during an operation which must take place the next morning at 7 a.m.
It is also possible to use the City’s Info-Neige application to find out which streets are being cleared of snow and which will be the next to suffer the same fate in your neighborhood.
When moving your car, Mr. Sabourin also suggests parking it 30 centimeters from the sidewalk to allow the tractor to pass over the sidewalk more easily.
